Amos wurde 1967 in Boston, USA, geboren, wuchs aber in Jerusalem, Israel, auf. 1987 kehrte er nach Boston zurück, um Jazzgitarre am Berklee College of Music und Komposition am The New England Conservatory of Music zu studieren. Elkana hat seinen MFA-Abschluss vom Bard College (New York) in Musik/Sound erworben. Während seiner Zeit bei Bard konzentrierte er sich auf elektronische Musik und studierte unter anderem bei Pauline Oliveros, David Behrman, Richard Teitelbaum, George Lewis, Maryanne Amacher und Larry Polansky. / Amos was born in Boston, USA in 1967 but grew up in Jerusalem, Israel. Bereits 1993, im Alter von 26 Jahren, debütierte Elkana in der Carnegie Hall mit dem „Saxophone Quartet No.1“, komponiert für das Berliner Saxophonquartett. Seitdem wird seine Musik weltweit von großen Orchestern, Ensembles und Solisten wie den Berliner Symphonikern, dem Israel Symphony Orchestra, dem Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, dem Ensemble Meitar, dem Musica Nova Consort, dem Orquesta de Cámara del Auditorio de Zaragoza („Grupo Enigma“), dem Stockholm Saxophone Quartet und vielen anderen aufgeführt. / Already in 1993, as a 26 years old, Elkana had his Carnegie Hall debut with „Saxophone Quartet No.1“ composed for the Berlin Saxophone Quartet.
